Ditcheat & The Folly

This route starts with a short incline through Wraxall Vineyard. After crossing the road at the top of Wraxall Hill, head North towards Little Pennard where you will enjoy far reaching views of the Mendip Hills.

On reaching Little Pennard turn right and proceed along the country lane for about ¾ of a mile until reaching a style on the right hand side. In front of you will be a small brick folly with tremendous views of the Brue valley. After stopping to enjoy the view, cross the horse gallop. If you are there early enough you may see horses trained by the Cheltenham gold cup winning trainer Paul Nicholls.

Now make your way down the hill into Ditcheat where The Manor House Inn provides a good opportunity for refreshments. The pub is a 17th-century manor house built by Sir Ralph Hopton. After making your way through Ditcheat, walk across flat pasture land back to Yew Tree Farm.
