The Manor House Inn
The Manor is our closest Pub situated in the heart of Ditcheat, about a mile and a half from Yew Tree Farm. The Grade II listed building dates back to the 17th century and has been a pub since the 19th century.

The Red Lion
The Red Lion is a 17th century thatched pub and restaurant set in the heart of the idyllic Somerset village of Babcary. Dining is offered in a relaxed bar area or a more formal restaurant.

Osip Restaurant
Expect wonderful things from Michelin-starred chef Merlin Labron-Johnson, at his intimate ‘farm to table’ restaurant in the heart of Bruton.

At The Chapel
At The Chapel is an all-day restaurant and bar serving breakfast, coffee, lunch, afternoon tea, cocktails, wine, and dinner. In the morning, the smell of freshly baked bread wafts down Bruton’s High Street. Worth a trip to buy your bread or a takeaway Pizza.

Roth Bar and Grill
Hauser and Wirth Somerset are a pioneering world class gallery and multi-purpose arts centre. With a changing program of outdoor, as well as indoor exhibits. Check their website for activities and workshops running while you are in the area. The onsite restaurant, The Roth Bar and Grill is a firm favourite of ours.

The Newt
The Newt is a country estate with magnificent woodlands and gardens ideal for a beautiful country walk. Picnics are available to order. They have a farm shop, Gelateria and restaurants, as well as cider making tours and workshops.
Local walks

Wraxall hill & East Pennard
This four mile walk starting and finishing at Yew tree Farm is one we do regularly. It will take approximately 1 and half hours to complete and takes in some great views of the Somerset countryside.

Ditcheat & The Folly
This four mile walk starts and finishes at Yew tree Farm and provides the opportunity to stop off at the pub at the half way point. It will take approximately 1 and half hours to complete.
Local towns and cities

Bruton
Bruton is set in a deceptively deep valley with a picturesque river. It boasts the exiting Hauser and Wirth art gallery and many other artistic ventures.

Castle Cary
Castle Cary is a historic market town, with many attractive buildings built from the golden stone of Castle Cary and Ansford. The high street is filled with quality shops, delicatessens, cafes and restaurants.

Wells
Wells is the smallest city in England, It can call itself a city because of its famous 13th Century Cathedral. It is remarkably unspoilt and boasts many other historic buildings, including the moated Bishops Palace and Vicars Close. There is an outdoor market in the market square every Wednesday and Saturday.

Glastonbury
Glastonbury is situated among the drained marshes and peat bogs of the Somerset Levels, and is possibly the earliest Christian place in Britain. Myths and legends connect Glastonbury to King Arthur and Guinevere, the Lady of the Lake, Excalibur, Merlin, and the mystical Isle of Avalon. There is plenty to seein Glastonbury including the Tor and the towering ruins of the Abbey.

Bath
Bath is the largest city in the county of Somerset. Known for and named after its Roman-built baths. Oozing with culture and history. A beautiful place to visit.

Glastonbury festival is festival of contemporary performing arts, located a little over one mile for Yew Tree Farm. The festival is held most years and is regarded as a major event in British culture.

Bath and West Showground
Antique Fairs, Flea Markets, Craft Fairs, and many events held though out the year.

Wookey Hole Caves
There’s some incredible history behind Wookey Hole caves that were inhabited for thousands of years. There are many other attractions at Wookey Hole aimed at young children including model dinosaurs, a fairy garden and the witch of Wookey Hole. Those looking for an adrenaline fuelled adventure could try the Wild Wookey experience of caving and abseiling.

Glastonbury Tor
Glastonbury Tor is a hill near to Glastonbury which is topped by a Grade 1 listed tower. From the top the far-reaching views of the Somerset countryside are breath-taking.

Cheddar Gorge
Britain’s biggest Gorge is home to a varied community of specialised plants and wildlife. It is one of Britain’s most spectacular natural landmarks. It’s an amazing place for hiking or cycling and is recognised as an international centre for rock climbing and caving.

Longleat House and Safari Park
Longleat House and Safari Park Enter a land of adventure, where lions roam, tigers stalk and monkeys swing. Travel through time in their grand stately home.

Stourhead House and Gardens
Stourhead has an elegant mansion built in the 1740’s, and set in its own 1000-acre estate. The world-famous gardens are filled with a fabulous collection of trees, follies, and water features.
